5. Shopify

Our store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify provides the commerce platform, checkout, store infrastructure, customer-account features, security, analytics, and other services that allow us to sell products online.

Information you provide through the store may be transmitted to and processed by Shopify and its service providers. Shopify may also process certain information for its own permitted purposes as described in its consumer privacy notice and applicable service terms.

You can review the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy for more information about Shopify’s processing of consumer personal information.

6. Shopify Network Intelligence and Enhanced Services

Depending on our Shopify settings, Shopify may use information from your interactions with our store together with information from interactions with other Shopify merchants to provide enhanced commerce, security, analytics, personalization, advertising, and measurement services.

The availability and operation of these services depend on our store settings, your location, consent choices, browser settings, and Shopify’s applicable terms and privacy controls.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and providers supporting our store may use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, software development kits, and similar technologies. These technologies may be used to:

  • Keep the store and checkout functioning.
  • Remember cart contents and preferences.
  • Maintain security and detect fraudulent activity.
  • Understand traffic, performance, and website usage.
  • Measure marketing and advertising effectiveness.
  • Personalize content or advertising when permitted.

Some cookies are required for core store functions. Other cookies may be optional and subject to the choices available through our cookie banner, privacy controls, browser settings, or applicable law.

Blocking certain technologies may affect cart, checkout, account, preference, analytics, or personalization features.

8. How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients:

  • Shopify and commerce providers that host, secure, and operate the store and checkout.
  • Payment processors and financial providers that authorize and process transactions, refunds, and payment disputes.
  • Fulfillment providers and carriers that prepare, ship, track, and deliver orders.
  • Technology and customer-service providers that provide hosting, email, communications, security, fraud prevention, account, support, or operational services.
  • Analytics, marketing, and advertising providers when those services are used and permitted by applicable law and customer choices.
  • Professional advisers, including accountants, auditors, insurers, legal counsel, and compliance providers.
  • Government authorities or other parties when required by law, legal process, safety, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or protection of legal rights.
  • Business transaction recipients in connection with a proposed or completed merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business event, subject to appropriate safeguards.

9. Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising

We do not exchange personal information for money as a primary business activity. However, certain privacy laws define “sale” or “sharing” broadly and may include disclosures through advertising, analytics, pixels, cross-context behavioral advertising, or enhanced commerce services, even when no money is paid for the information.

Depending on the tools enabled on our store, device identifiers, browsing activity, purchase interactions, and similar online information may be disclosed to Shopify or advertising and analytics providers for measurement, personalization, or targeted advertising.

Where required, you may opt out through the cookie banner, the store’s data-sharing opt-out page, a recognized browser-based opt-out preference signal, or by contacting us.

Data Sharing Opt-Out

When the Shopify data-sharing opt-out page is enabled for our store, eligible visitors may use that page to submit a request relating to the sale or sharing of personal information or its use for targeted advertising.

10. Marketing Communications

We may send promotional email or other marketing communications when you subscribe, consent, or when otherwise permitted by law.

You can unsubscribe from promotional email by using the unsubscribe link included in the message or by contacting us. Processing an unsubscribe request may take a reasonable period.

Even after unsubscribing from marketing, we may continue sending non-promotional communications relating to orders, customer service, returns, security, accounts, or legal notices.

11. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including order fulfillment, customer service, accounting, tax, fraud prevention, warranty, returns, disputes, security, legal compliance, and enforcement of agreements.

Retention periods vary according to the nature of the information, the reason it was collected, operational requirements, contractual obligations, legal limitation periods, and applicable law. Information may also remain in backups for a limited period after deletion from active systems.

12. Information Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

These measures may include use of Shopify’s hosted infrastructure, restricted account access, authentication controls, secure connections, payment-provider safeguards, fraud screening, and operational procedures.

No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Customers should protect account credentials and notify us if they believe an account or order has been accessed without authorization.

Do Not Send Highly Sensitive Information by Email

Do not email complete payment-card numbers, online banking passwords, Social Security numbers, tax-identification numbers, or account passwords. HearthLoom Home will not ask you to send your customer-account password through email or the website contact form.

13. Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on your location and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have the right to:

  • Confirm whether we process your personal information.
  • Access personal information we maintain about you.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Request deletion of personal information.
  • Obtain a copy of certain personal information in a portable format.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
  • Opt out of targeted advertising or certain profiling activities.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Appeal a decision relating to a privacy request where applicable.
  • Receive equal service and not be unlawfully discriminated against for exercising an applicable privacy right.

These rights are not absolute. We may deny or limit a request when an exception applies, when we cannot reasonably verify the requester, or when retaining information is required or permitted by law.

14. Colorado Privacy Rights

Colorado residents may have rights under the Colorado Privacy Act when that law applies to HearthLoom Home and the processing involved. Applicable rights may include access, correction, deletion, data portability, and the ability to opt out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, or certain profiling activities.

Colorado residents may also submit an appeal if we decline an applicable privacy request. Instructions for submitting an appeal will be included in our response when required.

15. How to Submit a Privacy Request

To submit a request, contact:

Email: support@hearthloomhome.com

Telephone: (719) 205-0188

Use the subject line “Privacy Request” when contacting us by email.

Include your name, email address, state of residence, the nature of your request, and enough information to help us locate relevant records.

We may request additional information to verify your identity and protect customer information against unauthorized disclosure. Verification may include confirming order, account, contact, or transaction information already associated with you.

An authorized agent may submit a request when permitted by law. We may require proof of the agent’s authority and may contact the consumer directly to verify the request.

16. Appeals

Where applicable law provides a right to appeal, you may appeal our decision by emailing support@hearthloomhome.com with the subject line “Privacy Request Appeal.”

Include the original request, the date of our decision, and the reason you believe the decision should be reconsidered. We will review and respond as required by applicable law.

17. Browser-Based Privacy Signals

Where required and supported by our Shopify privacy configuration, the store may recognize browser-based universal opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, as a request to opt out of certain sale, sharing, or targeted-advertising activities for that browser or device.

Because these signals may be browser- and device-specific, you may need to enable the signal separately on each browser or device you use.

18. Children’s Privacy

HearthLoom Home is a general-audience retail store and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

19. International Processing and Transfers

Shopify, carriers, payment providers, and other service providers may process information in countries or regions other than the one where you live. Privacy and data-protection laws in those locations may differ from the laws in your jurisdiction.

When required, applicable providers may use contractual, organizational, or other lawful safeguards for international transfers.

20. Third-Party Websites and Services

Our website may link to carrier pages, payment providers, social media, applications, or other external websites. Selecting an external link may allow the third party to collect information under its own policies.

HearthLoom Home does not control and is not responsible for independent third-party privacy practices. Review the privacy notice of the relevant provider before submitting personal information.

21. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in store operations, technology, Shopify settings, service providers, legal requirements, or data practices.

The revised policy will be published on this page with an updated date. When required, we may provide additional notice of material changes.
